Instead, they began an eighteen-year investigation.
Every answer led to another question. County records. Court files. Hospital archives. Forgotten correspondence. Thousands of pages scattered across California.
Piece by piece, a story emerged that had not simply been forgotten.
It had been buried.

It's an investigation.
An investigation into what happened to three generations of women—and why respected people and trusted institutions failed them when the truth mattered most.
What began as one family's search for answers became an investigation into the ways truth can disappear—and what it takes to bring it back.
The deeper I searched, the more impossible it became to dismiss what the evidence revealed. Hidden beneath one family's story were connections to chapters of California and American history that few people know, and even fewer are willing to confront.

After eighteen years, I believed the investigation was over.
Every record had been examined.
Every archive had been searched.

Then the investigation took one final, unexpected turn.
